POND LIFE MURAL Yuneng Primary School, 2006, (under stairs area 7 x 2.5m) This mural is an extension of P4 science syllabus. The mural depicts life found in freshwater habitat and the life-cycles of the frog, mosquito and great diving beetle can be ‘hidden’ in the mural for the purpose of a ID game for students to play.
This under-the-stairs area is a study corner for science exploration and learning. On the surrounding walls, the student standing inside can feel as if he or she is immersed in the freshwater habitat. Above, the hydrocycle shows the stages of water movement.
On the floor, we have installed permanent stickers and illustrated the common recycling themes such as ‘do not waste water, electricity and paper’.
The side of the stairs is not spared from mural painting! We illustrated the germination process using airbrushing and realistic painting techniques.
Aboriginal Mural
ABORIGINAL MURAL Yuneng Primary School, 2006, (Art room area 20 x 4.2m) This mural is a collaborative effort between students and professional artists. Inspired from a talk about aboriginal art and style, students had a go at producing their version of ariboriginal artwork. The best works are reproduced by artists on the walls of the art room.
This is a unique revision from traditional aboriginal style. Instead of the traditional earthern and red colours, the student explores the use of pastel greens to give tones to the body of the salamander.
On the right wall of the entrance, you are greeted by a parrot in aboriginal sytle.
This is an original work by a P6 student to reflect patriotic sentiment with Singapore flag flying in the background.

Stippling tool This special is usually square in shape and you can dap, stroke and splash to make various effects
Heart Grainer This tool comes in various grains to create natural treebark textures
Sponges Very Abosrbent and irregular shape sea sponges can create realistic effects.
Custom Stencil Motifs and designs can be professional created with special stencils
