Our Philosophy

At Ceramique Studio, we believe that art education is crucial for the holistic development of any child. Leading art educators hold the view that fostering a child's interest in art at the primary level is crucial to developing a long term interest and participation in art, an interest that is instrumental in creating balanced, well-rounded individuals.

Ceramique Studio has it's roots in pioneering research and development in ceramic decorative techniques. Through 5 years of active involvement in bringing innovative ceramic and clay art to school, we have come to offer a wider range of art education, including foundational art training such as drawing and painting. With this, our client get a all-round foundational training and enrichment. Image

Teaching Experience

Over the past 3 years, we have taught more than 10 000 students in ceramic art. Our lessons are meticulously planned to be appropriate for age and skill level of the student.

All lessons come pre-prepared with visual aids, appropriate tools. Students get quality as well as well enough material to work with.

Teaching Approach

ImageHow art is taught reflects our view of what art is for the child. For us, we strive to teach children what art is, and our role of art teachers is to not only teach techniques, but also teach them how to use art to express themselves.

Most art vendors, due to short duration and `expected' outcomes, use the how-to approach. This means that they start with a pre-concieved `standard' or example of expected work, and teach the technique that leads to expected outcome. The quality of these programmes is limited, as children do not learn to use art techniques to create original expressions.

Strategies and implementation

ImageThe strategy is dependent on the emphasis on art in the broader positioning of your school. Some schools prefer short and exposure-type programmes, others adopt a longer and more broad-based `foundational' approach geared towards building competencies in art techniques.

Our programmes are usually tailored for individual schools. However, programmes are structured as below:

1. short 4 - 8 hours exposure programme
2. mid-term foundation art programmes (usually in the range of 2 - 3 terms)
3. long-term developmental art foundation programme. (from 2 - 6 years plan)

To achieve long term objectives, collaborative team teaching (with in-house teachers) are often done to attain long-term sustainability.

Teachers Training

Long-term sustainability of art programme is dependent on building a successful art-team within the school's capabilities. We offer a systematic programme to enhance and build these capabilities.
