My Home Painted Mural Art
|
 | To the many uninitiated, attempting their first mural can be messy and a frustrating affair. Under the guidance of our instructors, mural painting, even for primary school children, can be an unforgetable and fullfilling experience. How to design a mural that worksMural art is an extension of art education. Like canvass painting, students compose the artwork on a much large scale. In addition to design issues, a mural must complement the existing ID (interior design) scheme, and the colours should be adjusted to the existing lighting conditions and the quality of the paint should be appropriate for the wear and tear conditions of the space. Last but not least, the complexity of design must be appropriate to the skill-level of the students. |
How it all happens | STEP 1: Find the wall that needs a makeover. Now, we need an idea and a style description... |
STEP 2: Let’s put our phone in a British-style phone booth and protray our energetic youths in local context.
Every task is different. But, never too tall an order for me! | Yes! I can claim ownership of this part of my contribution. |
STEP 3: Our instructors come on-site to start the mural making process. Students (with no prior experience) learn how to prepare tools and paints, protect the floor, and start on this 3 days training to be muralist. It is a slow but steady process, building tones and forms on plain background colours. Students persevere. STEP 4: Yes, What an achievement! Our hardwork and teamwork paid off. I will remember for quite a while. :)
