POND LIFE
Punggol Primary School,
(Near Eco-garden, 15m x 3.8m)
Done by P4 students of 2004
This intedisciplinary ceramic art and science learning project is 2 term project, involving 200 P4 students of 2004.
Creating a relief tile mural brings to life science learning. Students look at their subjects from a different perspective. Other than making comparative notes between different insects, they begin to notice the details (otherwise missed) such as textures and feeding movements.
Equipped with the learning of new facts, they embark on a creative journey to create their pond life in clay. They cut, shape and creature unique textures and details on their clay animals. The best works are mounted to create an educational mural for all to admire and learn from.

Ceramic art needs focus and discipline. A P5 student carves meticulously at his ceramic piece. |

Completing a mural project reaps immerse sense of fullfillment, especially when students see their work mounted on the wall for all to admire. |
